Reasons

I’ve been a bad, bad blogger.  I’ve been MIA.  I told myself that I wasn’t going to do this, just disappear for days, weeks with not even a hello, or a goodbye.  I’m so ashamed.  But… and there is always a but… I have had good reason.  Well several good reasons actually.

Reason #1.

My son Kristopher is playing Rugby and he just celebrated his 18th birthday. He is my youngest and a darn good Rugby player! After every game both teams get together to share a meal, so I’ve been cooking lots and lots of pasta!

Reason #2

The weather is just starting to warm up, the snow is gone and I can finally get outside in my gardens.  They needed to be raked, cut back, fertilized and readied for planting.

IMG_5889I made rooting hormone using willow branches

IMG_3283I planted my cold weather crops like kale, spinach, lettuce, kohlrabi, swiss chard and a bunch more.

Reason #3

I’ve been crafting up a storm!

I took a felting class, sewing classes, beekeeping classes and my neighbor is teaching me to spin.

Reason #4

IMG_5846My bees are coming this week and I needed to get the hives made, painted and everything ready for their arrival!

Reason #5IMG_3036

IMG_3037I had to give fluffy butt a bath.  In the kitchen sink!!

Reason #6

IMG_3286We got 6 new baby chicks!!

Reason #7  The last and biggest reason of all!! Drum roll please……

….Are you sitting down?

Close your eyes – (no peeking)

are you peeking?

Ok, now OPEN THEM!!!!!!

Momma Mocha and baby Cocoa (a little girl) are doing great.  She is the sweetest little thing and I can’t stop kissing her!!

  1. I’ve always been a city girl, but the more I read about all that you do, I’m secretly wishing I lived in the country. LOVE hearing about all your projects! And I’m serious about the candle… let me know when you come up with something! 😉 ~Mama Ging

Thanks Jill, It’s because of people like you that I’m a delinquent blogger. I saw your t-shirt skirt and fell in love. So now I’m searching trough my drawers looking for t-shirts, which means I will be sewing myself a skirt instead of blogging!! Great idea and perfect for someone like me that has no sewing skills (which is why I needed to take a class!!).
One of these days I really do want to try to make a Cajeta Candle. You will be the first to know when I do. Thanks for your confidence in me. Lol. Hugs Karyn

  2. Hi !, I am really interested in your willow hormone process. I have property in Goshen and I am thinking about starting a permafrost forest or planting some raised beds. You are such a busy bee, lol. i wish i had your energy. 🙂 ~Andrea O’Donnell Koran

Andrea, you are right next door, you really should stop by one day. If you have Willow trees you have rooting hormone. I just made myself another gallon because it goes fast and it really works good. Good luck with your ideas. Hugs, Karyn
